Specialist Orthodontist
Dr Stephen Cotter qualified from University College Cork in 1998, top of his year, with a first class honours degree. He was the recipient of numerous undergraduate awards including the O'Neil Medal and the "A-Company" Prize in Orthodontics. Following a number of years in general dental practice and hospital dentistry, he was accepted onto the prestiguous Leeds University Higher Training Programme in Orthodontics.
Dr Cotter completed his speciality training in 2007 winning the J.K. Williams Gold Medal for overall first place at the Royal College Examinations. He was also awarded a Distinction by the University of Leeds for his Masters Research into the materials use in Orthodontics. Dr Cotter has published a number of articles and lectured both locally and in the UK. He continues to contribute to the orthodontic training programme at the Cork Dental School and is involved in a number of research projects. He is a member of a number of Orthodontic Associations and commited to continuing further education.
Dr Cotter and his young family returned to the Kingdom to open the Orthodontic Clinic in 2009. After ten years the practice it was time to take the leap to a purpose built clinic. This is more convenient, lots of parking and custom designed to provide the best possible experience.
Stephen considers himself incredibly lucky to do the job he does. Everyday is a delight.
